About Us

Our main goal is to help adult community members improve on the skills they already have and/or learn new skills. We do so by offering classes or working one-on-one with a learning coach, in a non-threatening, inclusive, and flexible learning environment, most often in literacy, numeracy, English language learning, or computers. We also offer continuing education programs through stewardship with Red Deer Polytechnic and Olds College. We host a variety of workshops and information sessions throughout the year.

Our partnership with Campus Alberta Central has and continues to bring successful post-secondary certificate and diploma programs to our Ponoka Learning Centre.

Campus Alberta Central

Campus Alberta Central (CAC) is a joint venture between Olds College of Agriculture & Technology and Red Deer Polytechnic that provides post-secondary learning opportunities in communities throughout Central Alberta. CAC works with community members and local employers to identify high-demand programs in areas such as trades, health care, business, and human services.

The Ponoka location currently offers the Health Care Aide certificate yearly each Winter (January start) and the Practical Nurse diploma program every 3 years (September start).
